HISTORY OF BAMBAD HIGH SCHOOL
About 5 kilometers away Northeast of Poblacion of Isulan lies the fast developing barangay of Bambad. With its fast growing population, graduates of Bambad Elementary School and other neighboring elementary schools found big problems pursuing their secondary education due to economic constraints. Having felt the dire need for high school in the community, the people, through the initiative then of the PTA Officials, President Datu Ali Mama and Vice- President Mr. Florencio Buendicho Sr. initiated a joint-PTA Barangay Council resolution properly endorsed by then Officer-in-Charge Barangay Captain Reynalddo Bito-onon to the Municipal Council of Isulan. The said resolution was favorably acted and likewise endorsed the same to the late Schools Division Superintendent San Andres, until finally approved and granted permit to operate by the proper authority.
In June, 1967, Bambad High School officially opened with an enrolment of forty seven (47) first year students , equivalent to one section only. The class was attended by the first full-time teacher Mr. Leonardo Lotilla, under the umbrella of the elementary whose principal then was Mrs. Buenvenida O. Buendicho.
As enrolment continued to grow, two more full-time teachers, Mr. Jose L. Barrios and Mrs. Erlinda Banusing were added to the teaching force in 1968-69. Obviously, due to the concerted efforts of the parents and barangay officials, Bambad High school in its third year of operation in 1969-70 completed the enrolment up to fourth year that gave way to the coming in of another four teachers: Mr. Bernardito C. Bucani, Mrs. Marietta C. Bucani, Ms. Edith Etrata and Ms. Lerma Brasales. The fast growing size as well as the management necessitated the assumption of a qualified high school head and Mr Bernardito C. Bucani was designated Teacher-In-Charge. During his time, more teachers came in: Mrs. Nelly D. Magbanua in 1969, Mr. Alberto P. Loyola in 1978, Mrs. Rosalia E. Estrellan Mrs. Nena B. Hubiera , Ms. Alma Palma and Mr. Antonio E. Magbanua , Jr. in 1982. He became full-pledged Head Teacher in 1986 until he passed away serving the high school for a total of nine (9) years.
Eventually, Mr. Jose L. Barrios took over. Being the head, he felt the pressing need of permanent site to settle the high school. He presented the problem to the PTA Officials of both the elementary and the high school as well as the barangay council. Kagawad Cornelio C. Estrellan and Kagawad Nestor F.Araula, PTA presidents, encouraged Barangay Chairman Bernardo Elauria Sr. to convince Mrs. Buenvenida . O. Buendicho to donate a parcel of 1.02 ha. f rom the elementary site. By virtue of Resolution No. 63 ISB to read; “A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING AND CONVEYING BY Way OF DONATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SPORTS A PARCEL OF LAND AT ABOUT 10,200 sq. m. LOCATED AT BARANGAY BAMBAD PURPOSELY TO BE UTILIZED AS SCHOOL SITE FOR BAMBAD HIGH SCHOOL THROUGH THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR LONEY C. PUBLICO”.
Mr. Jose L. Barrios, after serving DECS for sixteen (16) years on May, 1991 vacated the post due to retirement. The school was administered by Mrs. Rosalia E. Estrellan as Officer-In-Charge until she was assigned to Salabaca High School for two years. Mr. Eduardo V. Europa assumed the administration and supervision in his capacity as principal I until he was transferred toTacurong Legislated High School giving way for Mrs. Rosalia E. Estrellan to return to her home place as incumbent Head Teacher III. The school noticeably increases in population yearly which calls for additional teachers and classrooms and other facilities needed for the smooth operation of the system.
